Stone Adz or pick. 149.8 x 56 mm. Late Mesolithic to Early Neolithic date (6500 BC-2900 BC). The pick is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. It has been knapped overall on the ventral face and also along both sides. The cutting edge is pointed and the butt end is rounded and blunt. This implement, similar to others found in the Isle of Wight inter-tidal zone, is coloured dark grey, grey, orange and buff. It was found as a surface find in shingle and is slightly ‘rolled’.
